Officially, Low-code and no-code (LCNC) platforms are development tools that enable users to create apps through visual, drag-and-drop interfaces, reducing or eliminating the need for traditional coding. These platforms allow users of varying technical expertise to quickly design, build, and deploy software solutions. ⚒

Now if you still don’t get it, imagine this !!!

You're craving some noodles 🍜 and you have three options. First, there's the long way: starting from scratch, learning the recipe, gathering all the ingredients, cooking the noodles, preparing the broth, and ensuring everything comes together without burning your kitchen down. It's a time-consuming process that requires a ton of skill and patience—much like traditional coding.

Now, consider the no-code approach: it's like instant noodles. Everything is pre-packaged and ready to go. Within a short period of time and with a little effort, you will have yourself a satisfying meal (or a functional app).

Lastly, there's low-code, which is like customizing your instant noodles. You start with a base—a pre-made noodle pack and broth—but you have the freedom to add your own special ingredients or adjust the flavors to suit your taste. Similarly, in low-code development, you can customize pre-built templates or add custom functionalities with minimal coding so users can bring their imagination and grand vision into reality without limits.

However, even without additional custom code, LCNC platforms already provide plenty of pre-built templates and functions like containers, forms, and widgets, which save time by eliminating the need to code simple blocks or browse through and copy from Stack Overflow. Plus, they also empower non-technical users to build and modify their applications.

Now, the question becomes: “Who is LCNC for? Is it only for non-technical users? OR is it for developers?”

Well yes, but actually no. LCNC platforms are suitable for nearly everybody ranging from non-technical individuals to deeply technical experts. For instance,

  • Business Professionals: Non-technical employees can create and manage applications to streamline operations and automate workflows.
  • Startups and SMEs: Small and medium-sized enterprises with limited resources can use these platforms to develop MVPs and applications without significant investment.
  • IT professionals: Even traditional developers and IT professionals can benefit from these platforms by using them for rapid prototyping, accelerating development cycles, and focusing on more complex and strategic tasks.
